FAMILY FIRST
Helina
Helina is 4 years old; obviously as the youngest she gets the most attention from my parents. She’s innocent and naive … and adorable; at least until the point where she starts ripping your book and running away with the remote *sigh*… kids these days ^_^
TEAMIR
Teamir is 9 years old; what a delight… NOT. Teamir can be seriously annoying sometimes… she’s cry for the smallest things and she’s sort of a snitch so she’s always getting me busted for stealing something from the kitchen or something :P But nevertheless at the end of the day, I love her… [Mainly because she screams my name every time she sees an Indian!]
ABEL
Abel [aka the biggest suck-up I know] is 11 years old. You’ll always see him hugging my dad and laughing exaggeratedly to my dad’s jokes when he wants something, smart kid :P Even though he can be so mischievous sometimes, he always manages to entertain me :D In addition to this, he’s a food-lover like meeee! Plus he likes me so I like him back [lol]… I think when he grows up he’ll be one of those guys that all the girls have a crush on because he has the best personality and a killer smile.
NARDOS
Ah… if it isn’t Dr.Evil! Hahaha… nah I’m just playing! XD But nardos can be so mean to me sometimes, they team up with Teamir and taunt me for 2! Nardos can be bipolar sometimes, which is really annoying. But at least she’s organized and colorful – one thing I love about her. She’s only 11 years old. She has long Indian hair which obviously I’m jealous of but that’s it! xP When she’s in a good mood, we talk, we laugh, we share stories and so on, you know, sisterly love -__-
ETHIOPIS
Ethiopis is 18 years old; she’s awesome! She’s extremely original and hard-working. She’s a bright girl, very smart, very talented. She stands out from the family because she’s so creative and just so… amazing! She inspired me to volunteer and to be organized. She’s responsible, she’s funny and she’s trustworthy – although sometimes she can be a little shy but she’s still so supportive to me which I appreciate. And her name is Greek – it means ‘Ethiopia’ plus she’s obsessed with Greece (yeah we have this weird thing in our family where we just love countries). She just began her 1st year of medical school; she’s going to become a doctor! She’s the science nerd of our family B-)
MELLY
Melikte or aka 'Melly' is 20 years old; probably the most hilarious person I’ve ever met. I swear her jokes can cure emotionally depressed people ^_^ Wow and she’s so supportive... anything I need, she’s always there for me. Not to forget, she has brains! Lol but not just ordinary brains, brains that get her a 4/4 on her GPA! She finished her last year of University in August; she graduated with a degree in business administration from one of the top private schools in the country. She’s a total nerd but a cool one and I love every minute I spend with her. She’s always teasing me and I can never defend myself because she has the best comebacks in the world! I can just imagine her 3 years from now, owning her own business. She’s mature, dependable and she CAN do it.
ABY
Aby is 24 years old; Aby and I talk a lot. We get along quite well. She listens to me and gives me advice. She moved out two years ago, her and Kalkidan, but we still see them often. Aby is someone who really knows herself, and she’s courageous and spontaneous which I’ve always admired. I have learnt so much from her. What is more, at the end of the day, it’s always family first. I care about her a lot. She’s more than a sister to me, she’s my best friend. She’s smart and unbelievably logical… seriously that girl thinks like some kind of therapist or psychiatrist, do not lie to her, she can read your mind! :D As a person, of course she’s loving, caring and humble, her attitude and her support is truly appreciable.
ADDISU
Addisu's 25 years old and he’s so darn smart! I guess I never really realized that about him until he got accepted to MIT!! :O And before you know it, he was gone. Again, one of the hardest things I had to go through in life was when my siblings left the house to ‘live their own life’. And it was worse with Addisu because I didn’t spend that much time with him. But it’s all okay now because we inbox each other frequently. When I apply abroad, he’s my inspiration! ;] As a person, he’s funny, devoted, kind, realistic and reasonable – but these are just adjectives, he’s more than just a list of words; he’s my hero, my inspiration and I’ve always looked up to him! And I’m sure everyone in my family would agree with me on this (: Honestly in my family, they’re all geniuses and I guess they get it from my dad.
KALKI
Kalkidan is 28 years old; and if there’s something you should know, it’s probably that’s she’s always honest to my parents, always threatening to tell on me when I go over to a friends house for a sleepover to study … What?? It’s true… *ahem* *cringe* Kalkidan is my role model; she’s the sister every girl needs, the friend everyone dreams of and the shrink I sometimes need O_O this is simply an understatement. Kalkidan is the eldest girl in our family so I guess in a way she’s responsible for all of us, we all learn from her. She’s full of wisdom and courage. I think it’s her graciousness and humility that makes her unique and yaaaaaaay she’s dated an Indian guy before! (; She’s supports my obsession like everyone else. She’s currently a professional accountant/auditor working for ACCA and other HUGE firms, she’s also very rich $$$ and she’s been in a relationship for a long time. I'm a lil jealous though... she has an Indian name! (Kalki) :O
HAWARYA
Hawarya and I are besties! (: I’m not sure if he’s dating anyone at the moment, he’s kind of hard to read when it comes to relationships :] Anyways, he’s an amazing architect/engineer. He’s one of the math, physics and art intellect of our family. He’s hilarious; we always joke about everything and everyone in our family. His calm attitude heals any tension in our family and he always manages to brighten up my day. He’s good at what he does, he’s motivated and driven. He’s also very caring to everyone; He’s always encouraging me “You can do it!”… I love that about him. This is totally random but I just HAD to say it: His apartment is soo beautiful and cosy! XD He’s also very generous – always giving me a stack of cash for my birthday and my graduation! :D Hawary is (for surrreee) going to design my future school, and I’m really looking forward to that family discount ^^ I can go on and on about him to be honest xX
MUM
My mother brought me into this earth 17 years ago :) Honestly speaking, I don’t know where I would be without her… she means the world to me. I know as a little kid, I gave her HELL because according to her and my aunt, I was quite the troublemaker ^^ But as I grow up, I intend on making it up to her. She always supports my dreams and encourages me non-stop. I love her unconditionally and I would die for her. My mom is very religious (protestant) so going out to parties, staying out late on a school night and having a boyfriend is NOT an even an option lol My mom grew up with 9 siblings – big family, I know. She’s extremely supportive and loving. Although she can be a little strict sometimes, she’ll still want you to have fun every now and then. She’s smart, funny, helpful, reasonable (most of the time), thoughtful, benevolent, cajoling, understanding (most of the time) and patient. My mom enjoys celebrations, watching Jim Carrey/Eddie Murphy movies, taking long naps, gossiping, watching the news, praying, cooking, shopping, and other stuff. She dislikes horror movies, anything sweet, music if it’s not religious, being told what to do, and untidiness. At first, she didn’t accept my obsession of India because Nardos told her some pretty messed up stuff about Indians but now, after years of assuring, she’s more than happy for me XD I love her (people say this all the time and they don’t really mean it but I DO).
DAD
I honestly couldn’t ask for a better father. Raising 11 children is never easy, but he made it seem as if it was. This man is my idol, my hero, my role model… my father. I wouldn’t be this far in life without him. I thank my mother for giving me life but I thank both my parents for making my life so special and meaningful. I know my dad has his mistakes and his flaws but you know what… he’s perfect to me. And for the past 17 years of my life, I’ve watched him work everyday, non-stop to provide for us. He is my GOD. I appreciate everything he’s ever done for me, cherish everything he’s ever said to me and keep the memories we have, close to my heart. My dad grew up with 6 other siblings – so yeah, I guess you can see why my parents have loads of kids. My dad’s actually not that strict, but always sets a curfew. My dad likes tidiness, the colour green, watching the news, travelling, reading books, taking photographs, going out with friends, playing cards and other things. He dislikes last minute notices, occasions, chocolate/candy, unhygienic or disorganized people and so forth. I remember one of the most important days of my life was when I was invited to the Indian Embassy and he was the only one who showed up :D I can never thank him enough. I love him (people say this all the time and they don’t really mean it but I DO).
